Job Summary:

The Chief Internal Auditor (CIA) is responsible for leading the internal audit function and ensuring the organization's financial and operational integrity through independent and objective evaluations. This role oversees audit planning, execution, and reporting, and advises senior management and the board on risk management, internal controls, and governance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk-based internal audit plan.
  • Lead and manage the internal audit team, ensuring high-quality audit execution and reporting.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
  • Report audit findings and recommendations to senior management and the Audit Committee.
  • Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging risks, and changes in regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, or ACCA are required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in internal auditing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of internal audit standards, risk management frameworks, and corporate governance.
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Proficiency in audit tools and data analytics.
