Strategic Sourcing and Procurement API Manager

PharOS is seeking for a Strategic Sourcing and Procurement API Manager within the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement API department as follows:

Role description

• Manages the end-to-end procurement process for APIs, including supplier identification, evaluation, negotiation and contracting
• Supports new product development by identifying suitable API sources for pipeline projects, in line with the Company's desired timeframe
• Mitigates supply chain risks through dual sourcing, inventory strategies, and strategic supplier agreements
• Develops and implements strategic sourcing strategies for APIs, in an effort to ensure long-term supply reliability and price competitiveness
• Conducts market intelligence to monitor industry trends, pricing, as well as supply risks
• Drives cost optimization initiatives, while ensuring quality, compliance and timelines
• Partners with Commercial, Product Development, Intellectual Property etc., as to align sourcing strategies with business needs
• Performs shadow-costing on all APIs and suggest optimizations where feasible and/or required
• Leads Supplier Performance Management through KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives
• Effectively leads, coaches and further develops Strategic Sourcing and Procurement API team
• Attends pharma-oriented exhibitions and events, e.g. CPhI etc.
• Visits existing and potential suppliers' manufacturing facilities

Experience & Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (MSc/MBA preferred)
• Ten (10) years of procurement/sourcing experience, preferably within pharmaceutical/chemical industry, with at least six (6) years in a similar senior role
• Strong knowledge of global API market, suppliers, and regulatory requirements
• Proven track record of negotiating complex supplier contracts and achieving cost savings
• Well-experienced in supplier relationship management and risk mitigation
• Strong business acumen, excellent communication, stakeholder management and analytical skills
• Experienced in people management
