Global leader in the trade credit insurance sector: Senior Credit Underwriter
Responsibilities:
- Decide on credit limit requests in line with underwriting strategy and based on available market and proprietary information
- Monitor and assess the assigned client portfolio, including risk exposure, buyer behavior, and sector trends
- Develop and maintain close relationships with clients and brokers through visits, calls, and continuous communication
- Support the Commercial Team in managing customers' loss ratios and contribute to corrective action plans for portfolio profitability
- Conduct thorough financial and risk analysis to support underwriting decisions
- Collaborate with internal teams (Claims, Commercial, Risk) to ensure comprehensive risk management and service delivery
- Maintain up-to-date market knowledge on key industries and trade sectors relevant to the portfolio
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and group underwriting guidelines
- Participate in underwriting committees and contribute to strategic risk discussions
- Prepare and submit local and group-level underwriting and portfolio performance reports
Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in credit underwriting, preferably in the trade credit insurance industry
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; advanced degree or certification is an advantage
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting systems and methodology
- Strong financial analysis and business assessment skills, with the ability to evaluate complex credit risks
- Proven knowledge of the financial services sector and relevant industry sectors
- Demonstrated commercial awareness and client focus in underwriting decisions
- Excellent interpersonal skills; confident communicator with strong influencing and negotiation abilities
- Ability to justify and explain underwriting decisions to both internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in English at C1 level (oral and written); additional languages are a plus
- High level of integrity, accountability, and a solution-driven mindset
