Job Description
As a member of Nokia's IP Networks customer documentation team, you will develop accurate, user-focused, topic-based information in a fast-paced environment to support a variety of customer-facing information deliverables. The customer documentation team is always innovating, so adaptability and dynamic learning are key qualities for success.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
Are you a highly motivated technical writer who is passionate about problem solving? As part of our team, you will:

  • With limited guidance, develop accurate, topic-based, user-focused technical documentation for the installation, operation, maintenance, and management of Nokia's NI solutions. This includes creating content and graphics using authoring tools, graphics tools, Content Management Systems (CMS), and server-based production systems.
  • Understand business and customer needs and follow a defined information development process to meet those needs; assist in designing information products that conform to Nokia documentation and quality assurance standards.
  • In close collaboration with R&D, Product line management, and other functional areas, gather required source information through research and analysis of source materials; work with product prototypes and GUIs; test and validate components; and interview subject matter experts
  • Modify information products in response to customer feedback and internal requests, and incorporate updates, new features, structural changes, and editorial comments
  • Assist with and follow documentation project plans and actively report contingencies in a timely manner.

Key Skills And Experience
You have:

  • A university-level bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, or related technical field, and at least 4 years of technical writing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills
  • Quality-focused technical writing and research skills to gather, share, and develop user-focused information as part of a global, diverse, and cross-cultural team
  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to manage competing priorities, and work effectively on your own and as part of a team
  • Superior learning skills and aptitude to adapt and thrive in an innovative setting
  • Drive to contribute with creative, nonstandard approaches to resolving issues in a dynamic environment, under high market pressure

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Knowledge of XML authoring tools (such as oXygen) and content management systems (such as Git)
  • Basic telecommunications or data networking knowledge and ability to quickly acquire domain knowledge through training
  • Knowledge of the command line interface (CLI)
  • Experience with Confluence, JIRA, and SharePoint
  • Desire to work with new hardware and software
