Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Construction Mechanical Engineer situated on-site in Athens. The daily tasks include designing mechanical systems for construction projects, overseeing machine design, and utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. The role also involves managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, as well as contributing to research and development initiatives to optimize engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for buildings and industrial facilities (HVAC, water supply, drainage, energy efficiency systems, fire protection, etc.)
  • Prepare technical documentation and support the tendering process with detailed mechanical solutions and cost estimates
  • Preparation of quantity take-offs and measurements, monitoring and updating of cost estimates
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical) for integrated project delivery
  • Participate in project planning, technical reviews, and construction coordination when required
  • Stay updated with applicable codes, technical standards, and sustainable design practices

Required Qualifications

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc or MSc)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in MEP or infrastructure-related design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and at least one mechanical simulation tool (e.g. Revit MEP, HAP, DIALux, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, technical regulations (ELOT, EN, ISO), and safety standards
  • Experience in cost estimation of mechanical installations
  • Excellent communication and technical reporting skills
  • Good command of English (written and spoken)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in construction projects, industrial or infrastructure
  • Familiarity with international design standards and environmental certifications (LEED, BREEAM)
  • Professional Engineering License or eligibility to obtain one
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines within an interdisciplinary team

Location

Athens, Greece. Occasional site visits may be required based on project needs.
