Position Description

Role Overview:

As a Purchasing Operator, you will be part of our Purchasing team, supporting the procurement process and ensuring the timely and efficient acquisition of goods and services for shipping operations. You will report directly to the Purchasing Manager.

Main responsibilities:

  • Handle requisitions for spare parts and various supplies including chemicals, paints, and gases, etc. while maintaining our high standards.
  • Assist in placing and tracking purchase orders for shipping materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and shipping-related procurement documents into the Company ERP system.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to confirm pricing, lead times to our vessels, and product availability.
  • Support the procurement process by following up with vendors on outstanding orders and resolving issues with vendors, agents, forwarders and vessels as required.
  • Contribute that all operations are carried out under the Purchasing Manager control with a focus on safety, cost effectiveness, reliability, accountability and client satisfaction.

Candidate's profile:

  • University Degree in Shipping, Logistics/Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field
  • 0 - 2 years of relevant working experience in shipping
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English and Greek
  • Strong knowledge of PC applications
