Cybersecurity Expert Needed to Safeguard Digital Assets

METRO is a leading employer in Greece with over 11,500 employees. We operate My market, one of the country's largest retail networks with 240 outlets, and are the top wholesale consumer goods company with 51 METRO Cash & Carry stores nationwide.

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join our dynamic environment and contribute to shaping the future of our infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled technical expert responsible for designing, implementing, and operating security solutions for on-premise, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures.

Your Role & Responsibilities:

You will manage and maintain firewalls/WAFs such as Checkpoint, Cisco, Imperva and ensure optimal configuration and operation in cooperation with external partners.

You will conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.

You will monitor, analyze, review, and respond to security incidents and events from systems such as CrowdStrike and Darktrace.

You will collaborate with external vendors, suppliers, and Security Operations Centers to evaluate, deploy, manage, and operate security products and services.

You will work closely with System and Network Administrators, IT Helpdesk, and Developers on a 'Security First' approach, providing guidance and support.

You will develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices based on ISO 27001, NIS2, and AI Act mandates.

You will stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technology solutions and educate Business Users on information security best practices.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Networking, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven information security experience in an engineering function.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical proficiency in O365 and Azure environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with firewalls/WAF (Checkpoint, Cisco, Imperva).
  • Experience implementing and operating various security solutions.
  • Minimum of one Cyber Security Certification from CompTIA, EC-COUNCIL, GIAC, Microsoft Security certifications.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 security tools (Defender for Endpoints, Defender for Office 365, Intune).
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with external vendors and suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • A Master's Degree in Cyber Security.
  • Hands-on knowledge of security-related products and technologies.
  • Additional Microsoft Security certifications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure security tools.
  • In-depth, hands-on experience with multiple operating systems and networking infrastructures.
  • Additional Cyber Security Certifications.
  • Ability to write custom scripting tools and interact with APIs.
