Financial Ledger Specialist

BCD Travel is a leading business travel management company with a global presence.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team in Athens. As part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for performing accounting transactions accurately through timely preparation of journal entries & account reconciliations.

This role involves understanding and implementing billing/revenue and cost accounting processes and practices, consistently exceeding expectations and delivering exceptional results.

Main Responsibilities

• Maintain an accurate ledger by efficiently recording day-to-day transactions in a timely manner.
• Ensure suppliers' and general offices' expense invoices are entered accurately and efficiently.
• Manage all accounting procedures related to tax liabilities (VAT, Social Security, etc.).
• Prepare cash flow statements and manage inflows/outflows (control of cash box, bank transfers, etc.).
• Clients' reconciliation (outstanding balances and payment schedule).
• Suppliers' reconciliation (outstanding balances and payment schedule).
• Invoice clients and support any client-related issues.
• Initiate research and resolution of discrepancies and issues.
• Support the preparation of P&L, other ad hoc reports and analysis, and special comparative reports as requested by management.
• Maintain excellent relations with customers and partners.
• Foster excellent relationships with colleagues and departments to ensure cross-departmental efficiencies.
• Demonstrate personal accountability that delivers good value and drives results.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' corporate experience required in a similar role (travel industry experience would be considered a plus).
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and tax frameworks.
• Strong financial and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in Greek and English.
• Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
