Sales Engineer Position Overview

The Sales Engineer plays a crucial role in helping customers improve their security posture by leveraging our world-class cybersecurity solutions and services. This includes collaborating closely with customers and channel partners to understand their unique needs and promote our comprehensive cybersecurity portfolio.

Working alongside the Head of Presales, Sales team, and Regional Sales SVP/VP/Director, the Sales Engineer is responsible for developing leads, qualifying opportunities, and supporting multiple bids aimed at delivering exceptional value and fostering strong relationships with customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Collaboration: Engage with sales teams, customers, and partners to understand customer requirements, identify suitable solutions, and effectively communicate the value proposition.
  • Presales Support: Deliver technical briefings, presentations, demonstrations, white papers, RFI/RFP responses, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and other presales activities to support the sales cycle.
  • Sales Opportunity Development: Proactively seek out new sales opportunities by building and nurturing technical relationships.
  • Security Architecture: Participate in security architecture discussions to design tailored solutions, offering strategic advice and recommendations.
  • Compliance Guidance: Assist customers in understanding and meeting compliance and regulatory requirements related to cybersecurity.
  • Presentation and Advisory: Present Obrela services from technical and business perspectives, managing expectations with stakeholders and serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Sales Opportunity Qualification: Work with the sales team to qualify sales opportunities, including RFI/RFPs.
  • Bidding Process Support: Assist in the bidding process by qualifying opportunities, designing solutions, responding to RFI/RFPs, writing proposals, and coordinating with the service delivery team.
  • Transition Management: Ensure smooth transitions from the sales process to service delivery, maintaining a trusted advisor role to ensure customer satisfaction.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in sales engineering/presales in technology, information security, or managed service industry.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in sales engineering/presales in Managed Security Services, Managed Detection & Response, SIEM, XDR, EDR, NDR, Cloud Security, security controls, and practices.
  • Knowledgeable about the UK and European market, customer security requirements, adopted technologies, industry regulations, and business drivers.
  • Strong experience in assessing customer requirements, articulating solution designs, and managing bids from opportunity qualification to contract award.
  • Highly motivated, target-oriented, and able to deliver results with the right quality and in a timely fashion.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high energy to create and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners.
  • Collaboration skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working team relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office tools, Sales tools (e.g., Salesforce), and Collaboration tools.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Security, or relevant field.
  • Master's degree in cyber security considered advantageous.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CCSP, PCI, QSA, CEH, product certifications highly advantageous.
  • Greek Native speaker/C2 Proficiency.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English (B2 or higher).
  • Ability to travel 40% and frequently on short notice.
