Production Unit Supervisor

As a Plant Operator at Sol Group, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth production of volumes required while monitoring the output and quality of the manufactured product. Your duties will include overseeing the start-up, shutdown, and maintenance of the unit to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. You will also be responsible for taking proactive measures to develop innovative solutions that promote efficiency and a safe working environment.
You will work in rotating shifts according to schedules set by the plant manager and oversee plant operations using a DCS interface within the control room. The new Air Separation Unit in Sindos will operate 24/7.
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, as you will be responsible for troubleshooting causes of plant operational issues and alarms. You will also participate in the maintenance and updating of plant and equipment. Additionally, you will prepare and maintain production operations and distribution records to meet internal and external requirements. Daily routines will include water treatment, equipment inspection, and log sheet reading.
To succeed in this role, you will need a degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Automation / TEI or higher. Experience in a production line is a plus, and good command of risk management and prevention is essential. A solid grasp of health and safety rules is also required. You should have a strong focus on Safety, good judgment, and a keen ability to take initiative. Good communication skills, both interdepartmental and with vendors, are necessary. Furthermore, you should be very good at seeking information and executing productivity ideas and Best Practices to keep plant costs down. PC literacy is a must.
