Accountant Role Overview

The company is currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team in Athens. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a range of accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, preparing and processing payments, and reconciling bank accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and trial balance.
  • Process and reconcile daily transactions, including cash receipts, payments, and deposits.
  • Perform monthly close procedures, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, withholding taxes, and other relevant tax filings.
  • Manage payroll processing, including calculation of salaries, deductions, and benefits.

Requirements:

  • University Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Level A licensed Accountant or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.

  • Experience working with accounting software, such as SoftOne and Epsilon.
  • Knowledge of Greek and English language (written and spoken).
