Engineering Leadership Opportunity

Plum is seeking a seasoned leader to oversee the strategic direction and technical architecture of our User Pillar. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers across backend and mobile platforms, working closely with product directors to define the roadmap and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and refine the technical strategy and roadmap for the User Pillar in collaboration with product directors.
  • Manage a team of up to 5 engineering leads, providing coaching, mentoring, and career development opportunities.
  • Implement goal-setting frameworks and metrics to quantify team impact and align with business priorities.
  • Provide input into the technical and architectural roadmap for teams, working alongside engineering leads.
  • Be responsible for resourcing teams and optimizing hiring processes.
  • Create systems and processes to enhance productivity and output, focusing on ways of working and AI enhancements.
  • Promote and implement quality assurance and testing at scale as part of the development lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams with a strong focus on outcomes and business impact.
  • Experience managing engineering leaders and growing teams.
  • Effective prioritization and ability to make key trade-offs.
  • Able to inspire and influence teams while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to simplify complex challenges.
  • Data-oriented with experience leveraging quantitative frameworks to measure performance and resilience.
  • Previous experience in Fintech, B2C digital businesses, or fast-paced scale-up environments.
  • Impact-driven, self-starter mindset.
