Accountant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our team in Athens. This is an excellent opportunity to work with clients across various sectors and contribute to the success of our organization.

The role offers a range of responsibilities, including delivering high-quality services to clients, ensuring client satisfaction, and working closely with a team of expert advisors.

  • Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality services to clients within set timescales.
  • Raise the profile of the firm by ensuring clients are fully satisfied with the service and support they receive.
  • Participate in building bespoke solutions according to clients' needs, from preparing annual statutory accounts to comprehensive management reporting solutions.
  • Perform monthly statutory bookkeeping for a diverse client portfolio.
  • Reconcile accounts with supporting documentation and prepare monthly working papers.
  • Process payments and billing within expected time periods.
  • Report timely and accurately on client queries.
  • Ensure all documents are posted and digitally filed properly.
  • Provide support during external statutory audits.
  • Participate in year-end closing processes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly and yearly management reports.
  • Prepare annual Greek GAAP/IFRS financial statements.
Requirements

We require a strong candidate who possesses the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a relevant field (Master's degree will be considered as a plus).
  • Up to 2 years of working experience in performing general accounting transactions and preparing management and statutory accounts.
  • CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualifications (completed or in progress) will be considered as a plus.
  • Experience in preparing budgets and cash flow forecasts.
  • Solid knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, finance, tax principles.
  • Strong numerical skills.
  • Experience in working with industry-standard ERP systems (preferably SoftOne).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details.
  • Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm and/or client.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Greek.
