ROLE

A
Senior AI Research Engineer
is sought with expertise in technical EU projects implementation and proposal writing (HORIZON Europe, Cascading Funding Tenders, etc.). The successful candidate will be part of the R&D team and will be based at the Athens Lab Offices (Kifissia), and will participate in exciting collaboration projects in the field of modern technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive end-to-end AI/ML software projects from concept to implementation and integration.
  • Design and implement prototypes using state-of-the-art AI technologies.
  • Manage technical implementation tasks of research projects, in collaboration with cross-disciplinary and distributed technical project teams.
  • Communicate solutions with stakeholders (other technical partners or end-users) and fine-tune them based on the constraints of the partners and the user needs.
  • Produce high-quality and novel technical outputs (i.e. scientific deliverables, research papers, research and innovation proposals) on AI technology while following EU strategic goals (software openness, interoperability, fairness, etc.).
  • Show initiative and actively engage with partners, finding effective and resourceful ways to achieve the project's goals using the information available.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MSc, or PhD in Computer Science/Engineering or AI/ML related field.

  • 3 years of hands-on experience in AI/Data Science applications.


  • Experience in EU technical project implementation (H2020, Horizon Europe, Cascading Funding).
  • Strong, hands-on experience and implementations with the latest AI technologies, e.g. Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of predictive modelling concepts, clustering and classification techniques, recommendation and optimisation algorithms.
  • Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (e.g Tensorflow, Keras, Scikit-learn, Numpy, Pandas).
  • Ability to efficiently search, read, and synthesise AI scientific literature.
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills; excellent written and verbal English.
  • Able to work both independently and in a team, taking initiative to meet objectives and deadlines.
