Job Title: Junior/Mid-Level Embedded Software Developer

Location: Attiki, Greece

Compensation: The monthly salary for this position ranges from €1200 to €2000, commensurate with experience and skills.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be involved in the entire embedded software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and debugging. This role requires a foundational knowledge of C programming, experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), specifically FreeRTOS, and a passion for working with hardware and lab equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, code, test, and debug system software for embedded devices and systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up new boards and integrate software.
  • Implement and optimize software for microcontrollers and other embedded targets.
  • Develop and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C code.
  • Work with real-time operating systems, with a focus on FreeRTOS for task scheduling and memory management.
  • Utilize lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers for testing and debugging.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure software quality and adherence to coding standards.
  • Contribute to the development of software for applications in the aerospace and agriculture industries.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for the software you develop.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a relevant field.
  • Solid programming experience in C.
  • Hands-on experience with microcontrollers.
  • Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), particularly FreeRTOS.
  • Proficiency in using lab equipment, including oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, for debugging and testing.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A keen interest in embedded systems and a desire to learn and grow.

Beneficial Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience in industries such as aerospace, where embedded systems are critical for flight control, navigation, and communication systems, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the application of embedded systems in modern agriculture for tasks like precision farming, automated irrigation, and livestock monitoring would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, etc.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python.
