About this position:

We are looking for a AR (Account Receivable) Accountant who will contribute to develop the business of the company in Athen, Greece.

  • Be responsible for the management of customer master data, including customer name, address, billing period, currency, credit limit, etc..
  • Be responsible for the review, filing and updating of sales contracts for corresponding customers.
  • Be responsible for the application and follow-up of customer credit. Make timely and accurate shipping declarations. Send and review available credit reports to the business team on a regular basis and apply for additional credit in advance for customers with insufficient credit.
  • Focus on tracking customers with significant outstanding accounts and long account aging, including timely reconciliation with customers, identifying reasons for discrepancies.
  • Perform routine reconciliation of accounts receivable and promptly compile and archive reconciliation data. Provide regular accounts receivable management reports, reconcile intercompany transactions, and investigate and adjust discrepancies.
  • Approve and release orders based on the customer's remaining credit insurance limit and order price.
  • Issue and credit notes based on sales contract or other supporting documents and posting in system.
  • Review and produce monthly analysis of the accrual and use of relevant client fees, promptly alerting to potential loss risks and ensuring no overspending. Taking part in year-end processes
  • Complete other tasks assigned by management.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance & Accounting or related major.
  • Previous experience in accounting is a must, ideally in an international company.
  • Knowledge of SAP and MS Office tools (especially Excel).
  • Positive and proactive person interested in learning new things and contributing to success of whole team.
  • Cross-cultural thinking, reliability, teamwork, problem solving.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of Greece VAT and intra-community VAT treatment will be a plus.
  • Proficient in English, and Greek will be a plus.
