Energy Market Development Specialist

Responsibilities:
  • Participates actively in the provision of specifications, the implementation and the testing of new systems and procedures for the new activities of energy wholesale markets
  • Designs and develops tools, as well as establishes procedures for the Short-Term Trading Department for the activity of Cumulative Representation of storage systems in short-term energy markets and other flexible systems
  • Supports the development of procedures and tools for the submission of bids and the exploitation of market data, with the aim of updating reports and drawing useful conclusions for each new activity
  • Contributes to the development of procedures and the use of software related to the short-term planning of operation of storage and other flexible systems portfolios (intramonth), with the aim of their optimal distribution and the maximization of the benefit from their participation in the short-term markets
  • Assists in the development of procedures for the drafting of regular reports to the Management regarding the data and results of markets and the financial performance of these portfolios' participation in the short-term energy markets
  • Negotiates the portfolios of Storage Systems or other flexible systems in the energy wholesale markets as required based on the needs of the Department
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a University in Engineering or Applied Mathematics or Informatics or Applied Informatics or Economics
  • Master's degree in Energy or Energy Economics will be considered an additional qualification
  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience in wholesale electricity markets
  • Experience in a company of production, trading, supply, transmission or distribution of electricity or in a consulting company in the energy sector will be considered an additional qualification
  • Certification as an Energy Trader in short-term electricity markets will be considered an additional qualification
  • Certification as an Energy Trader in energy futures will be considered an additional qualification
  • Experience in simulation/modeling of energy markets will be considered an additional qualification
  • Knowledge and use of Power BI will be considered an additional qualification
  • Good knowledge of the English language
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Internet
  • Availability in flexible working hours
  • Availability in case of emergency (upon phone contact)
