Senior Business Analyst
in Athens to work with our clients in the
European public sector
.
You will be supporting a high-impact project with the European Commission, to advise and assist both the Commission and EU Member States in ensuring the effective operation, deployment, and continuous improvement.
The position places a strong focus on
service monitoring, performance reporting
, and
data-driven business analysis
. As the designated subject matter expert for specific applications, you will offer strategic and operational guidance across both business and technical areas, becoming a trusted advisor to stakeholders and playing a critical role in daily operations.
Your role:
- Develop in-depth technical and business expertise in application systems.
- Act on behalf of the European Commission to ensure that both Member States and internal Commission teams operate in alignment with agreed quality standards.
- Provide expert support by responding to functional and technical inquiries, resolving complex issues, and offering strategic recommendations to enhance key applications.
- Guide stakeholders through all phases of application deployment: integration, testing, validation, and post-deployment support.
- Collaborate with national administrations and internal teams to ensure smooth and effective integration and transition processes.
- Monitor service performance, availability, and KPIs, producing regular reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and observability of IT services.
- Lead and contribute to meetings, workshops, and training sessions involving the European Commission and Member States.
- Provide second-level support for the clients' applications, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, including operational procedures and knowledge base content.
- Own and improve Incident and Problem Management processes in line with ITIL best practices.
- Foster and maintain trust-based relationships with stakeholders across the client's ecosystem.
Your profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience in business analysis, technical project management, or IT systems deployment.
- Hands-on experience analyzing technical and functional requirements with a focus on actionable, client-oriented recommendations.
- Proficiency in data retrieval, analysis, and reporting (e.g., SQL, pivot tables, dashboards) to support informed decision-making.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including testing, release management, and operational monitoring.
- Proven experience in incident management within complex IT ecosystems.
- Demonstrated ability to produce business metrics reports and use analytics to drive strategy.
- Skilled in managing large, multi-source datasets with strong spreadsheet and presentation capabilities.
- Familiarity with automation and testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman, SoapUI).
- Working knowledge of XML, XSD, JSON, and REST/SOAP web services.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- This role may require flexibility, including shift-based work and on-call responsibilities, depending on operational needs.
- You must be eligible for EU Security Clearance (at least 5 years of EU nationality in required).
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with public sector IT systems.
- Understanding of IT Service Management principles and ITIL frameworks (certification is a
- plus).
- Additional EU languages are an
asset.
