Role Description

As a
Payments Technical Projects PM
, you will lead and support complex,cross-functional initiatives across the full payments lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone with proven hands-on experience in payments—card schemes, digital payments, transaction processing, issuing/acquiring, and industry regulations—who can translate technical concepts into actionable project plans and client value.

You will collaborate closely with client-side business analysis, development, and PM teams, as well as internal stakeholders across Product, Client Services, and Sales. Your work will span project coordination, operational support, data analysis, compliance oversight, and strategic

advisory.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in structured, fast-paced environments and knows how to navigate the intricacies of the payment ecosystem. You will be responsible for ensuring alignment between internal teams and client objectives, managing multiple workstreams, identifying risks, and influencing decisions with data-driven insights.

Success is measured through timely project delivery, operational stability, regulatory compliance, and the quality of cross-team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage end-to-end payments projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and operational requirements.
• Act as a trusted advisor by monitoring industry trends, scheme announcements, and regulatory updates, translating them into actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with client-side BA, development, and project teams, and with internal Product, Sales, and Client Services stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
• Monitor data integrity and compliance metrics, proposing improvements to enhance operational accuracy and regulatory adherence.
• Analyze performance data to identify areas of operational optimization and business growth.
• Track milestones, deliverables, timelines, and risks, taking proactive action to ensure successful project execution.
• Support day-to-day operational activities across the payment ecosystem.

Must Have

• 3–5 years of experience in payments, including card schemes, transaction processing, issuing/acquiring, or related domains.
• Strong understanding of the payments lifecycle, industry regulations, and scheme operations.

• Proven experience in project or program management in a client-facing or consulting environment.

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams in a structured and organized manner.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
• Fluency in
  Greek and English
  (mandatory).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel,PowerPoint, and other business productivity tools.

Nice to Have

• Experience working directly with the client's platforms, tools, or programs.
• Familiarity with compliance monitoring, operational analytics, or data-driven decision-making in financial services.
• Previous experience in fast-paced consulting or high-growth financial environments.
• Formal project management certification (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent).
• Interest in emerging payments innovation, regulatory frameworks, and fintech trends.

Contract Length:

• 12 months
• Full-time contractor role (8 hours/day)
• Working Location: Hybrid (Athens, Greece)- 4 days in office
