The Art Director at Para Bellum Games is responsible for envisioning, designing, and overseeing the creation of detailed miniature models. This role combines creative leadership with project management to bring artistic concepts to life in miniature form, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship that aligns with the company's vision.

Key Responsibilities:

Creative Vision

: 

  • Lead the design of all miniature models from concept to technical sheets to ensuring consistency and quality in sculpted miniature.
  • Collaborate closely with creative direction, production and manufacturing teams to translate concepts and technical sheets into physical miniature products.
  • Manage and supervise the art department. Ensuring visual language of products remain clear and distinct, while helping develop new product lines and expand existing ones.
  • Communicate effectively with creative directors and project managers to align miniature designs with project goals.
  • Become educated and updated on the product ranges, techniques and visual language of the company and competitors in the industry.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in art direction, preferably with experience in miniature modeling, set design, or related fields.
  • Strong artistic and creative skills, including sketching, painting, and model-making.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency with design software and traditional art techniques.
  • Ability to guide and direct sculptors to ensure successful translation from 2D designs to 3D sculpts.
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A degree in Fine Arts, Design, or a related field is preferred.

  • Ability to innovate and problem-solve within production and artistic constraints.
  • Experience working with budgets and timelines in a production environment.
