 Costamare Shipping is one of the world's leading owners and providers of containerships and bulk carriers for charter. We are seeking a candidate with a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and technical competence to join our software engineering team.

About the role:
 You will contribute to the development of enterprise-grade applications and web services that support critical business operations. You will be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance. The role requires a focus on creating well-structured, efficient, and maintainable code to ensure the reliability of our systems, while staying at the forefront of new technologies to enhance development practices and drive innovation.

Technology Stack:
 Java, Spring Projects (Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data, Spring Web, Spring WebFlux, Spring Cloud), Hibernate/JPA, Vaadin, MSSQL Server, Git, Maven, REST, Microsoft Azure Services, OAuth2, GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities:

  • Java Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust, high performance Java applications.
  • API Development: Build, manage and consume RESTful APIs, integrating with front-end and third-party applications.
  • Database Management: Develop and optimize SQL queries, design efficient schemas, and oversee database interactions to maintain data integrity, optimize performance, and ensure seamless data access.
  • System Integrations: Design, develop and maintain system integrations ensuring efficient data flow across platforms.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption on the production systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in Java development.
  • Experience with modern IDEs (Eclipse, IntelliJ).
  • Experience with Git repositories.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure services (App Service, Blob storage, Azure Kubernetes Service) and Cloud-native databases (Azure SQL MI).
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to microservices architecture.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Military obligations fulfilled for male candidates.
