Description
As the PanEU Associate, you will lead analysis on topics related to clean energy technologies, such as renewables or batteries within our Pan-European Research team, which is a transversal (horizontal) team that supports the work of individual country power market teams within Aurora and provides Pan-European insights to Aurora's clients. This provides you with the opportunity to gain exposure to multiple European power markets on a regular basis.
Recent topics we have worked on include:
- Cost, technology and financing trends for renewable technologies and batteries across Europe
- Benefits of co-location for renewable energy and battery storage
- The European Renewables Market Overview Report and European Battery Market Attractiveness Report covering 28 European countries
Joining our office in Athens, you will contribute to Aurora by developing analysis and conveying insights to enhance client's decision making. You will play an active role in all aspects of client engagement: helping identify issues, forming hypotheses, conducting analysis, and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead a project team with 1-3 colleagues in developing timely and rigorous quantitative analysis on renewable/flexible technologies to enhance the client's decision making.
- Monitor the latest European policy and market developments.
- Maintain and improve Aurora's tools regarding technology and financing costs by
- analysing key global commodity and supply chain trends
- tracking innovations in energy technologies, and
- collaborating with stakeholders to develop Aurora's long-term cost forecasts.
- Coordinate with Aurora's Global offices to share knowledge on global technology trends and foster alignment of key assumptions.
- Draw insights out of the analysis you produce and communicate findings to internal and external clients, and at conferences by creating compelling presentations.
- Engage with clients to thoroughly understand their interests and gain new insights.
- Contribute to our Pan-European product development, by identifying new opportunities and expanding our capabilities.
What we are looking for
Required attributes:
- At least 3 years of experience at a leading consultancy, energy company, energy project developer, investment bank or other knowledge-driven firms or institutions (e.g. Think tank, Research or university institute).
- A university degree in either a quantitative subject, coupled with a keen interest in policy developments, or a social science, environmental studies or a related field, coupled with an interest in quantitative analysis.
- Demonstrated success in leading projects and processes in team-orientated environments.
- A proven ability to collect, analyse and interpret complex quantitative data and information.
- An ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical parties.
- Competence in advanced data analytics (e.g. Python, R, Matlab, Advanced Excel, GAMS)
- Proficiency (C1 Level) in English.
- Strong interest in energy markets, previous professional or academic exposure to energy beneficial.
