Description
We are seeking a Software Support Engineer to support clients on API integrations, code scripting, data pipelines, or technical onboarding. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in data access and troubleshooting and be able to quickly catch up with energy industry general knowledge. In addition, the candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both engineering and customer-facing teams.

You will be work within a team in Agile development practices and continuous improvement initiatives, as the final line of support for resolving client-facing data issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide second-line & third-line technical support
  for clients integrating with our APIs, data feeds, and file delivery systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve data access issues
  , helping customer support team diagnose problems and coordinating with Engineering teams where escalation is needed
• Act as the technical voice in customer conversations
  , translating client issues into clear technical actions and ensuring timely, accurate responses
• Write and update technical documentation
  for code and processes
• Document common issues and integration guidance
  , helping scale support through internal tools, knowledge bases, and onboarding materials

Requirements

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and common data formats such as CSV, XLSX
• Comfortable using Postman, or similar tools, to investigate API calls and response
• Proven experience with Python, SQL, to scripting to assist in diagnostics, reproducing client issues and developing client requests
• Problem-solving abilities and a good grasp of software development best practices
• Good understanding of authentication and basic networking concepts (e.g. API keys, tokens, HTTP status codes)
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Desirable skills

• Experience with logging platforms, ticketing systems (e.g. Freshdesk, Jira), or monitoring tools
• Exposure to data products in financial, commodities, or energy sectors
• Interest in continuous improvement of support processes, documentation, and tooling
• Experience working in a customer-facing or support environment with a strong service mindset
• Ability to triage issues effectively and collaborate across teams
