Data Engineer

This is your opportunity to join our Technology and R&D team We are expanding and looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help us build systems that collect, manage, and convert raw data into usable information.

This position is full-time and hybrid based in Athens.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Pipeline Development & Integration: Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines as well as build new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.
• Data Quality & Monitoring: Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring data produced is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes.
• Modeling & Architecture: Define company data assets (data models), design data integrations and a data quality framework. Work closely with business units to develop the strategy for long-term data platform architecture.
• Collaboration & Optimization: Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools and increase data accessibility.
• Data Science Support: Enhance the firm's Data Science and BI professionals, focusing on data workflows implementation and management that support machine learning models and large-scale analytics.
• Testing & Documentation: Write unit/integration tests, contribute to the engineering wiki, and document your work.
• Troubleshooting: Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data-related issues and assist in resolving relevant issues.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you must have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. An MSc degree in a related technical field is an asset.
• Advanced Python, PySpark, and SQL programming skills (minimum 3 years of experience is desired). Familiarity with Scala is a plus.
• Experience with or knowledge of cloud services, SQL/NoSQL databases, and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Working experience in Microsoft Azure Technology and Databricks (or similar technology) for at least two years.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling.
• Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies.
• Excellent problem solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent command of both Greek and English.
