As an Assistant Chief Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of the hotel's facilities. This role requires a proactive approach to facility management, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and maintenance across the property. Your expertise in engineering and building maintenance will ensure that our guests enjoy a comfortable and seamless experience, aligning with the luxury standards that Conrad Athens The Ilisian represents.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Facilities Director in managing the maintenance and repair of all hotel facilities, systems, and equipment.
  • Lead, train, and guide engineering team members, promoting a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Perform routine inspections of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal functionality and safety compliance.
  • Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment downtime and boost operational efficiency.
  • Address maintenance and repair requests from guests and staff promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations across all engineering operations.
  • Assist with departmental budgeting and oversee cost-efficient maintenance practices.
  • Keep comprehensive records of maintenance tasks, inspections, and repair work for tracking and compliance purposes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar engineering role in a luxury hotel or large commercial facility.
  • A degree or diploma in Engineering, Facility Management, or a related technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a focus on training and development.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in Greek and English.
