About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Security Operations Engineer (Associate Level) to join our growing Security Operations team. 

You will play a key role in monitoring, maintaining, and improving Snappi's core security platforms, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our systems and data.

This role combines hands-on operational monitoring with the technical ownership and fine-tuning of Microsoft's security suite — including Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and Microsoft Purview (DLP) — and supports vulnerability management initiatives.

Responsibilities

Security Operations & Incident Response

• Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts from Sentinel, Defender, and DLP systems.

• Conduct initial triage and investigation of security events, escalating when necessary.

• Support containment, eradication, and recovery actions during security incidents.

Platform Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain and enhance configurations for Sentinel analytic rules, workbooks, and connectors.

• Tune Defender for Cloud and Defender for Endpoint policies to improve detection accuracy and reduce noise.

• Assist in developing and refining playbooks, automation rules, and alert workflows in Sentinel.

• Work with Cloud and IT support teams to align tool configurations with evolving business needs.

Vulnerability & Threat Management

• Support vulnerability management initiatives and collaborate on patching cycles.

• Analyze reports from tools like Qualys to identify and prioritize critical vulnerabilities.

• Track remediation progress and contribute to continuous improvement of patch management processes.

Data Protection & Compliance

• Develop Microsoft Purview DLP policies and procedures.

• Maintain and monitor Microsoft Purview DLP policies to prevent data leakage.

• Investigate policy violations and assist in implementing preventive controls.

Collaboration & Reporting

• Partner with IT teams to coordinate remediation and hardening actions.

• Prepare dashboards, reports, and metrics on threat trends, platform health, and incident response performance.

• Contribute to internal knowledge bases, SOC documentation, and process optimization efforts.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a Security Operations, SOC, or Cloud Security role.

• Basic understanding of Azure security architecture, identity protection, and cloud security principles.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, and Purview DLP.

• Foundational knowledge of incident response, SIEM, and EDR concepts.

• Basic scripting or automation skills (KQL, PowerShell, or Python) are a plus.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow in a dynamic fintech environment.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Qualys or other vulnerability management platforms.

• Exposure to automation frameworks.

• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the financial sector.
