Environmental & Quality Officer

We are currently seeking to employ a talented and highly motivated Environmental & Quality Officer to join our Sustainability Team.

The main purpose of the role is tor overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of the company's Environmental Management and Quality Systems. This role ensures compliance with environmental regulations, manages waste and sustainability initiatives, conducts internal and external audits, and promotes ESG practices across departments, direct collaboration with Facilities Services. The officer also monitors key performance indicators, identifies risks and opportunities, and supports staff training to foster a culture of environmental responsibility and quality excellence.

Your Key Responsibilities will be to:

• Coordinate and supervise the implementation of Environmental Management and Quality Systems.
• Update and revise manuals, procedures, and instructions of the Integrated Management System.
• Analyze environmental and quality performance indicators and propose improvement actions.
• Prepare and calculate Scope 1, 2, and 3 gas (GHG) emissions for the group in alignment with the GHG Protocol and corporate sustainability reporting standards
• Monitor environmental compliance, prepare and submit reports to relevant authorities (e.g., Ministry of Environment, HMA).
• Conduct internal quality and environmental audits and coordinate corrective/preventive actions. Collaboration with facilities Services and the company's mechanical engineer.
• Manage and oversee external audits (certification bodies, clients, authorities).
• Track waste flows and coordinate proper waste management in collaboration with licensed external partners.
• Identify environmental risks and opportunities to optimize environmental performance.
• Train and raise awareness among staff on quality, environment, recycling, sustainability, and ESG policy implementation.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate ESG requirements and sustainable practices into company operations.

Knowledge:

• University degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards (knowledge of ISO 45001 or EMAS is desirable).
• Training or certification in carbon accounting, GHG Protocol, or corporate sustainability reporting (e.g., ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, or equivalent) is desirable.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in a similar role within a service-oriented company.
• Knowledge of relevant environmental and quality legislation
• Very good command of English and computer literacy (MS Office, ERP systems, KPI monitoring tools).
• Experience in carbon accounting/carbon footprint. Experience with building sustainability standards (e.g., GRESB, LEED, WELL, etc.).
