About Us
DeepSea was founded to bring the latest AI technology to make the world of shipping leaner, greener, and better connected. Our cloud platforms harness deep learning models trained on real-time data to enable our customers to optimize the routes, speeds, operation, and maintenance of their vessels, saving fuel, money, time and reducing environmental impact. DeepSea talent is spread across Greece, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Romania, Thailand and Japan and we are growing quickly.
We are a scale-up company - meaning you will be bringing us to the next level and deliver a tangible contribution to a more sustainable shipping world. There is no complex hierarchy nor long approval processes. We just deliver. You will be joining a company with highly skilled and smart people who love solving complex problems.

- Train machine learning models to predict and evaluate ship performance under varying weather and operational conditions.
- Validate ML model outputs using physics-based rules and marine engineering knowledge to ensure predictions are realistic and applicable to ship operations.
- Assess the quality, accuracy, and completeness of data collected from ship sensors, identifying anomalies or inconsistencies that could impact ML model performance.
- Work with data engineering teams to design and maintain robust data pipelines for processing real-time and historical ship data.
- Document data quality findings, model performance, and validation results, providing actionable insights to improve software and operational outcomes.
Main Requirements
- Master's degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related field. Bachelor's degree with some relevant professional experience.
- Ability to apply physics-based rules and marine engineering principles to validate data and model outputs for accuracy and reliability.
- Familiarity with data quality assurance processes, including identifying anomalies, missing data, or inconsistencies in real-time ship data.
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot data issues and model performance in the context of marine operations.
- Basic understanding of Python programming, including the ability to run scripts, work with libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy), and perform simple data processing tasks.
- Basic understanding of Machine Learning
- Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and marine operations teams, to ensure alignment on data and model requirements.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in the maritime sector, such as roles in the technical or performance departments of a shipping company or expertise in vessel performance monitoring, would be a valuable asset.
- Prior hands-on experience with Python for data analysis, processing, or machine learning applications would be highly advantageous.
- Experience working with data from marine sensors (e.g., fuel consumption, engine performance, or navigation systems) would enhance your ability to ensure data quality and relevance.
What we offer:
You will be part of a dynamic team focused on delivering results and continuous improvement while disrupting the industry, and will also receive:
- Competitive remuneration package: Skill & experience-based salary and eligibility for additional employee benefits.
