WINGS ICT Solutions is looking for an Application Developer to join our team and contribute to ongoing and upcoming projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting software applications using the IBM z/OS mainframe operating system. As a z/OS Developer, you will work as an expert across Banking Application implementation projects.

The main responsibilities will involve:

  • Participate in full software development lifecycle of an IT project.
  • Design client & server-side architectures.
  • Apply existing standards for programming, naming, security & performance and provide proper code documentation.
  • Write clean, scalable code.
  • Test and deploy applications and systems.
  • Revise, update, refactor and debug code.
  • Improve existing software.
  • Document new and existing implementations.
  • Act as technical consultant for the client.
Requirements

Educational requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired experience and skills:

  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in AS400 or z/OS mainframe operating systems
  • Proven experience as an Application Developer (back-end preferred)
  • Experience with relational databases such as DB2 (preferred) and SQL Server
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)

Desired but not mandatory:

  • Knowledge of API practices (RESTful), dependency injection
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN
  • Experience from the banking and/or financial industry
  • Knowledge of Jira and Confluence tools
  • Proven experience of banking implementations related to Card Systems
