Work4u is seeking for an in house Accounting Manager
on behalf of our client, an international freight forwarding, logistics and supply chain Management Company.

About the Role

As the Manager of the Accounting Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial transactions and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and controlling all financial transactions of the company.
  • Reviewing daily accounting entries and their classification (general ledgers, journals, invoices, etc.).
  • Supervising revenue invoicing and accompanying delivery documents.
  • Monitoring customer and supplier balances.
  • Monitoring bank account balances.
  • Supporting audits by regulatory authorities, internal auditors, or certified public accountants.
  • Preparing and filing tax returns: VAT, Withholding taxes.
  • Ensuring proper compliance with MyData across all operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with Greek Accounting Standards.
  • Reconciling VAT returns from MyData with trial balances.
  • Preparing Financial Statements.
  • Monitoring contracts, quarterly agreements, and subcontracting contracts.
  • Liaising with tax authorities, social security funds, and GEMI.
  • Coordinating with auditors, lawyers, and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a senior accountant or supervisor - at least 5 years.
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.

Required Skills

  • Mastery of tax and accounting principles adhering to Greek GAAP (ά τάξης λογιστής).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask with attention to detail.
  • Good command of English (written & spoken).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Team player with a proactive and professional approach.
  • Reliability, accountability, and problem-solving mindset.

Pay range and compensation package

Competitive salary package based on experience and qualifications. Meal card allowance per month. Private health insurance after the first 6 months of employment. A friendly and dynamic work environment.
