Metaxas & Associates is a top-tier law firm, based in Athens. A globally recognised expert in energy law, we handle high-level cases within the broader energy market, as well as other adjacent business sectors and areas of law (i.e. climate, environment, State aids, competition, consumer protection, tax law etc.).

As we are constantly expanding, we are seeking a senior associate to join our dynamic litigation team, on a permanent basis. In this key position, you will play a pivotal part in energy law, as you will have a unique opportunity to be part of a growing team of experts, working on cutting-edge issues for important portfolios.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Law degree, preferably delivered from a Greek University. A post-graduate degree notably in energy and/or EU law will be considered an asset.
  • Admitted to a Greek Bar Association.
  • Proven track record on litigation proceedings; minimum of 5 years experience in litigation.
  • Εxperience in providing counsel and advice across the full spectrum of Greek and EU public (administrative) and private (civil) law.
  • Fluent proficiency in Greek and English; any other language will be considered an asset.

  • Excellent legal drafting skills.
  • Attention to detail, thorough understanding of multifaceted issues.
  • Proactively keep up with new legislation, case-law and market development.
  • Ability to prioritise, adapt to changing business, simultaneous management of many cases, and respect deadlines.
  • Hands-on approach and creative and pragmatic problem solving.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both in writing and oral.
