The HR Director will be a key member of the Country Management Team, responsible for shaping and maintaining HR processes and policies that support organizational goals. This role focuses on fostering a high-performance, employee-centric culture rooted in empowerment, quality, and productivity, while also enhancing the company's employer brand within the local market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process owner for the recruiting process, managing the recruiting budget.

  • Establishes an in-house employee training system that addresses company training needs including new employee onboarding or orientation, management development, production cross-training, the measurement of training impact, and training transfers.

  • Coordinates all Human Resources training programs and assigns the responsibility of Human Resources and line managers within those programs – line management primarily responsible for functional/technical skills assessment and development.

  • Monitors all pay practices and systems for effectiveness and cost containment.

  • Recommend changes in benefits offered, especially new benefits aimed at employee engagement and retention.

  • Utilizes the HRIS system to eliminate administrative tasks, empower employees, and meet other needs of the organization.

  • Identifies, establishes, and monitors the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee engagement.

  • Direct and manages processes and tasks for organization development that addresses issues like workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management.

  • Keeps the Country MD and the executive team informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of company goals, and those that are not being addressed adequately at the line management level.

  • Responsible for payroll and managing related tax and social security topics as well as providing HR data necessary for internal processes (e.g. budgeting, reporting, year-end-closing)

  • Leads company compliance with all existing labour law provisions (e.g. health and safety) and legal reporting requirements. Maintains minimal company exposure to lawsuits. Together with Legal Department minimizes risk.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Academic background - degree in HRM, economics, psychology, or related areas

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in all HR matters (recruitment, organisation development, compensation, employee development, employee relations, safety, employee engagement and labour law);

  • At least 10y experience of which 5y in a supervisor role

  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the executive management team that provides overall company leadership and direction.

  • Has worked in an international environment

  • MS-Office (must)

  • Familiar with Human Resources Information Systems (Workday is a pre)

  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to structure processes and systems

  • Proactive and self-motivated

  • Open and inclusive

  • Positive, resilient team player

  • Empathetic and able to coach (emerging) managers

  • Strong communication skills
