Database Engineer

Model: Hybrid (3 office - 2 home)
Salary: 1,400 - 1,600 Euros net
Must have knowledge of SAP and HANA
As a Database Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our database systems, with a focus on MS SQL and SAP HANA. You will also work closely with our Development and IT teams to ensure the highest levels of performance, security, and availability of our databases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain/extend database systems using MS SQL and SAP HANA.
- Monitor database performance, implement related changes, and propose new patches or versions when required.
- Ensure data integrity and security, organize backups, and perform recovery operations.
- Collaborate with developers and BI teams to create and optimize SQL queries and database structure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement data migration and ETL processes.
- Document database schemas, processes, and configurations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Database Engineer or similar role.
- Strong expertise in MS SQL
- SAP HANA experience will be considered a strong plus
- Proficiency in SQL and database management.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Knowledge of aspects like data backup, recovery, security, and data integrity.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills in English.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud database solutions (e.g., Azure).
- Familiarity with other database technologies (e.g., MySQL, Oracle).
- Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence tools.
