Head of Accounting

Zepos & Yannopoulos is one of the leading law firms in Greece providing comprehensive legal and tax services to companies doing business in Greece.

We are seeking for a dynamic and experienced professional to efficiently lead and manage our Finance and Accounting department and ensure the organisation's smooth operation regarding finance matters and obligations to third parties/public authorities.
 

As the Head of Accounting & Finance your prior responsibility is to safeguard the smooth operation and management of all activities and personnel in the department. The complexity of the role implies you have meticulous attention to detail and a thorough understanding of all accounting and finance- related procedures and suggest improvements if needed.

Main responsibilities
a) oversee all accounting department processes and procedures, (e.g. month and end-year process, accounts payable, receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis)
b) prepare or supervise, review and sign off all tax returns and organisation's annual financial statements in cooperation with the Financial Controller
c) supervise the financial reporting and ensure all reports are delivered in an accurate manner and timely.

Cooperation with Head of Billing
In order to be aligned with all activities and operation of the finance department, you will work closely with the Head of billing in matters such as, a) account properly all invoices in accordance with all tax & accounting rules and principles, b) reconcile accounts receivable ledgers with our clients' accounts, to ensure billing reporting is accurate.  

Performance & productivity
As an organisation we place great importance on monitoring and reviewing, on a daily basis, the financial performance and productivity of all stakeholders to achieve successful operation and growth of our people. Therefore, you will have close cooperation and report to our CPO and provide all related information to a) consider and propose cost efficiency plans, b) develop financial risk minimization plans, c) review Finance Department operations and suggest improvements in various areas (cash flow, reporting etc.)

Reporting lines
Your reporting lines will be the Executive Committee Finance team and the Chief Performance Officer (CPO).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting & Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
• Postgraduate degree in Economics or Accounting or related field
• 10+ years of combined Accounting & Finance experience out of which at least 3 years in supervisory positions and 2 years in managerial role
• A' class accounting license 
• Proficient with Power BI tolls and Accounting Software
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and tax law
• Proven experience in filing tax returns and preparing financial statements
• Excellent knowledge of Greek Accounting Standards 
• ACCA, ACA, CFA certification will be considered a plus
• Excellent command of English language (verbal and written)
• Excellent computer skills (MS office)
