seeks to employ a full-time experienced
Marine Superintendent
, who will join a team handling all aspects of the HSQE & Marine for a Fleet of Tankers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out vessel inspections and internal audits in an effective way, ensuring that any identified findings are effectively closed out
  • Monitor, arrange and oversee SIRE inspections for the assigned fleet, including pre-vetting requirements, and follow up on recorded observations
  • Monitoring of the vessel's maintenance status
  • Arrange for the certification and supply of LSA and FFA, and oversee their maintenance
  • Review and approve all requisitions relevant to the marine department
  • Participate in incident investigations and assist in relevant report compilation
  • Participate in risk assessment activities and compile relevant documentation
  • Review and update the company's procedures related to marine operations, to ensure their functionality and accuracy with the work as done onboard
  • Actively promote safe working practices, cultivating a culture of open reporting and continual improvement

Requirements
Eligible candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • At least 5 years total sea service up to the level of Captain Class A' on Tankers and at least 1 year in Rank
  • Office experience in the HSQE or marine department of a company managing tanker vessels will be an asset
  • Further studies in Shipping will be an asset
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English
  • Good computer literacy
  • Ability to travel on average 120 to 150 days per year
