IDH invests through majority positions in high-quality, mid-size Greek companies and currently holds investments across IT, Food, and Retail sectors, pursuing growth both organically and through strategic acquisitions.

Role Overview

The Financial Analyst will work closely with the M&A and the Investment Teams, supporting the evaluation of new investment opportunities, performing valuations, monitoring portfolio companies, and preparing high-quality presentations for internal and external stakeholders. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, financial modeling expertise, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Screening & Evaluation

  • Support the assessment of new investment opportunities through market research, financial analysis, and preliminary due diligence.
  • Review business plans, financial statements, and industry data to identify risks, value drivers, and strategic fit.

Valuation, Financial Modeling & Strategic Insights

  • Conduct internal valuations of existing holdings (DCF, trading comps, precedent transactions); Maintain and enhance complex financial models used for valuation, forecasting, and scenario planning.
  • Track portfolio company performance versus budget and investment thesis; prepare benchmarking and value creation analysis.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and Finance to incorporate accurate financial information and support month-end or year-end processes when relevant.
  • Monitor macroeconomic indicators and sector developments, producing concise insight reports on strategic and financial implications.

Support the M&A team

  • Provide analytical and presentation support across all phases of the deal lifecycle.
  • Prepare materials for Investment Team meetings, Board presentations, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in coordinating due diligence with advisors, auditors, legal teams, and internal departments.

Presentations & Reporting

  • Draft high-quality PowerPoint presentations for investment cases, portfolio reviews, and strategic projects.
  • Summarize findings clearly and concisely, tailoring messaging for senior leadership.
  • Support the preparation of documentation for external stakeholders (banks, investors, advisors).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Finance, Strategy, Legal, and the Executive Team as needed.
  • Support data collection, validation, and coordination across portfolio companies.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • Master's in Management or Finance a prerequisite.
  • 2-4 years of experience in M&A, Corporate Finance, FP&A, Investment Banking, or Consulting.
  • Proven experience in valuation and financial modeling is essential.

Skills

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; ability to build financial models from scratch.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, corporate finance, and valuation techniques.
  • High analytical rigor with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a high-pressure, deal-driven environment.
