Commercial Analyst

Our client, a leading shipping company, is seeking a Commercial Analyst & Business Development Officer to join and support the companies commercial strategy
This role will focus on conducting in-depth market analysis across various vessel segments and identifying growth and investment opportunities
The ideal candidate will combine analytical expertise with strategic thinking to help guide the company's commercial decisions, fleet expansion initiatives, and long-term business development roadmap
Key Requirements
- Analyse global shipping markets across multiple vessel types, tracking supply/demand fundamentals, freight rates, orderbook trends, asset values, and regulatory impacts
- Prepare market reports and forecasts to support senior management decisions, incorporating macroeconomic, commodity, and geopolitical factors
- Support commercial strategy by providing insights on market timing, segment performance, and asset positioning
- Evaluate commercial opportunities such as new trade routes, chartering strategies, and fleet optimization initiatives using data-driven analysis
- Identify and assess investment opportunities in vessel acquisitions, newbuild projects, partnerships; conduct financial modelling, scenario analysis, and ROI evaluations
- Maintain industry relationships across all stakeholders
