Role Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accounting and reporting function of the department. In this position, you will assist with various statutory compliances, manage MyData and Orian books, monitor and evaluate cash flow of various inter departments, and oversee bank reconciliation and international transfer of funds.

Location: Piraeus, Greece (Hybrid)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• End to End process for expenses
• Reconciliation of vendor, customer, intercompany accounts and corporate credit cards
• Billing for customers and intragroup recharges
• MyData (checking & submission of revenue invoices)
• Opening of new principals/vendors in Orian program
• Interface with our local system reconciliations (from Unit4 to Orian)
• Forecast weekly Cashflow and monitor against AP targets
• Posting inbound & outbound bank transactions
• Bank account reconciliation and clearing of pending items
• Co-ordination with banks for all operational requirements. (Guarantees, Term Deposits, Funds Transfer, LC Credit Card, account opening, pending issues, cheques and cheque books etc.)
• Prepare monthly VAT/VIES reports
• Assist with month-end closing and management reporting, including posting of month-end journals, revaluations and reconciliations
• Fixed assets reporting
• Day to day transactions and stakeholder management

Who You Are:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance
• Master or Professional Accounting Qualification (desirable)
• Accounting experience in a large multinational company
• Expertise in Microsoft office
• Good knowledge of the Greek Tax laws
• Experience with MyData
• Hands on attitude
• Good communication skills
• Experience in Shipping Industry (desirable)
• Hyperion user (desirable)
