What the role entails:
As an Economist at Ethoslab, your work will revolve around conducting primary research to contribute to the company's research projects related to a range of topics. Your contributions will help shape our tools and services and you will be engaging with stakeholders and partners to co-develop our deliverables. You will be conducting research analyzing academic documents and data obtained from primary sources to draft documents that encapsulate your findings in accordance to the project's goals. You will be expected to conduct, under guidance, rigorous data collection and analysis directly aligned with project research goals.
What you will be doing:
- Contribute to funded research or consultancy projects, focusing on impact assessments, policy design and behavioral experiments.
- Collect/structure/maintain and process economic and statistical data to apply in mathematical models and statistical techniques.
- Perform econometric/statistical modeling, using specific software.
- Draft technical reports and project deliverables as well scientific publications, and science-policy reports based on this work.
- Engage and collaborate with a wide range of partners and stakeholders.
- Assist in business development efforts.
Requirements
- You have a Masters in Economics, Political Economy, Social Sciences with a quantitative focus.
- You have a solid foundation in data handling and analysis (any survey-related experience will be considered a plus).
- You have coding experience in Stata, R or Python or any similar tool.
- Your level of English is excellent, both written and oral.
- A strong passion for writing, editing, and the field of economics
- You are ready to learn new methods, able to switch between tasks and topics quickly and sometimes work with challenging, complex guidelines
- You are motivated and find pride in conveying your work to others
