Senior Travel Manager (Incoming) – Original Senses Greece

The Senior Travel Manager position involves leading, managing and inspiring a team of travel designers & operations executives, in curating personalized travel itineraries. It requires elevated organizational and managerial skills so as to build relationships of trust with team members, client/travel agents, as well as local suppliers and the entire industry. Creativity, open-mindedness, organization, empathy, listening, problem solving, and strategic thinking are paramount to efficiently performing all below responsibilities.

Requirements

  • At least
    4+ years of Managerial experience specifically in Hospitality industry
  • preferably at a DMC
  • Excellent knowledge of travel destinations within Greece
  • Fluency in English and Greek
  • Solid skills in presentation software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Upbeat attitude and team player
  • Critical thinking skills to resolve customer issues
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise team efficiency and delegate responsibilities
  • Support, motivate and coach team members as they provide attentive, efficient service to customers
  • Curate personalized itineraries as needed
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback in accordance to company Performance Management System
  • Monitor team performance and manage schedules (annual leave etc.)
  • Participate in new member recruitment process, responsible for team's development and retention levels
  • Efficiently collaborate across teams to manage traffic
  • Monitor inquiry traffic, and ensure it is properly allocated and handled
  • Report on team production
  • Analyze information and processes, and contribute to optimizing processes and strategies
  • Ensure smooth and effective collaboration with other departments
  • Meet or exceed annual sales and profitability objectives, and assume outcome accountability
  • Increase sales through developing and maintaining a network of clients, understanding their needs, and building strong client relationships.
  • Address team member issues and concerns in a way that promotes a healthy work environment and company culture
  • Assist the team in dealing with issues, concerns and problems by offering competent advice
  • Manage issues while protecting the client as well as the agent and company interests
  • Understand "what works" in the market, and become intimately familiar with the destinations, products and services that will appeal to your customers
  • Identify potential opportunities in the local market and escalate these appropriately; contribute to strategic product development
  • Contribute to a culture of corporate loyalty, success and ongoing goal achievement
  • Collaborate with Management to develop strategies that keep the company innovative and competitive
  • As needed, travel for destination inspections, FAM trips and/or industry shows
  • Nurture and protect the corporate DNA
