The scope of role:
The role supports the execution of voyages in alignment with charter party terms by assisting Masters and coordinating with key stakeholders. It involves monitoring vessel performance, planning bunkering, coordinating with agents, and ensuring all cargo and voyage documentation is accurate and compliant. The role also contributes to pre-fixture planning, supports claim handling, and liaises with the chartering and insurance departments to ensure smooth and efficient voyage operations.

Job Description:


•    Assist Masters in the execution of the voyage in compliance with the charter party terms


•    Monitor, analyze and optimize vessels' overall performance


•    Provide assistance to the chartering department and assist in the pre-fixing negotiations.


•    Plan the fleet bunkering requirements for head owners' account


•    Assist in defending claims (both cargo and speed claims) brought against Owners by Charterers, cargo interests and other third parties.


•    Develop solid relationships to ensure commercial cooperation


•    Appoint cargo, bunker surveyors, port agents and update position lists to principals


•    Review and approve D/As


•    Review and approve the pre-stowage plans, loading sequences, cargo docs, LOIs, Bills of Lading, bunker calculations


•    Issue voyage instructions, guide Master and follow up the cargo holds preparation to receive the intended cargo


•    Communicate with Masters about the port, cargo requirements, local regulations and guide them to ensure compliance with the various c/p terms and conditions


•    Liaise with the Insurance Department and report to H&M & War Loss of Hire underwriters as appropriate depending on vessels trading needs

Skills & Qualifications:

· University Degree in Commercial or Marine Studies.

·
Senior Officer's License or similar - is not mandatory but will be considered an asset.

· At least 3 years' working experience as a Senior Officer/ Marine Superintendent or proven experience in similar position.

· Solid knowledge of IMSBC requirements, time and voyage charter parties.

· Experience in stowage plans, cargo characteristics, damage stability, grain stability, Bills of Lading and all aspects of the day-to-day commercial operation.

· Fluency in English

· Computer literate and excellent command of written and spoken English

· Communication & negotiation skills
