Senior Site Engineer

Actionline is currently seeking on behalf of its client a multinational construction company for a Senior Site Engineer (specialization – civil) for one of the greatest urban regeneration projects in Europe.

The purpose of this role is to oversee the technical aspects of the project. Entrusted with ensuring that every engineering facet aligns with rigorous standards, this role is paramount to the successful and timely completion of the consortium's endeavors.

The position is based in Athens, Greece, and reports to the Production Manager.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

• Provide Technical Know How: Provide direction and expertise for all engineering activities on site, ensuring all technical aspects adhere to engineering principles and align with established plans, quality standards, budget, and time frames.
• Site Management: Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule and all challenges are addressed promptly.
• Team Management: Supervision and guidance of the Junior Site Engineers
• Design Field Change Requirements: Propose changes to technical files and other technical documentation as required. Analyze data (maps, reports, drawings). Review solutions. Provide alternative solutions to existing challenges.
• Project Management: Compiling and monitoring the project schedule. Responsible for the supervision of works and managing specialist subcontractors.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary technical liaison, between the Engineering, Integration and Project Management teams, communicating progress, challenges, providing solutions, resolving conflicts, and ensuring work is carried out in line with specifications and drawings. Reporting on progress to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain stringent quality control processes, ensuring all construction activities meet or exceed industry standards.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers and site personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
• Collaboration: Work seamlessly with architects, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the project's technical aspects are well-integrated.
• Safety Compliance: Advocate for and enforce strict safety standards, ensuring all site operations are conducted in a safe and compliant manner.
• Problem Solving: Utilize extensive engineering knowledge and experience to address complex challenges and ensure efficient resolution.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of site activities, engineering decisions, and changes for compliance and future reference.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in civil engineering and construction, integrating these into site operations were beneficial.

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

• Master's degree in civil engineering
• 8-10 years of solid experience as a Senior Site Engineer. on large-scale residential and commercial building projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of Greek construction standards and regulations
• Proficiency in engineering software tools and project management platforms
• A proven track record of leading site engineering teams to successful project completions.
