On behalf of our client, a growing company in the tourism sector, We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Accounting Specialist to join their team in Athens. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, handling all tasks related to the ERGANI system, and assisting in day-to-day accounting functions.

The candidate should be experienced in managing monthly payroll cycles, and possess a working knowledge of taxes, social security contributions, and financial documentation. In addition, they are expected to contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of the accounting function, assisting with bookkeeping, tax filings, and financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire payroll process for the company in accordance with Greek labor laws and company policies.
  • Accurately input, update, and maintain employee data in the ERGANI system.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with payroll regulations, including leave, bonuses, and terminations.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
  • Process invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Assist with VAT declarations, social security payments, and other tax obligations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and labor authorities as needed.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date payroll and accounting records.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in payroll processing and accounting (at least 2-3 years).
  • Hands-on experience with the ERGANI system is mandatory.
  • Solid understanding of Greek labor law and payroll regulations.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
