The Maritime Operations Center plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of maritime services. As an Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling all matters relevant to the provision of these services.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control all matters relevant to the provision of services through software platforms within the Maritime Operations Center (MOC).
- Upload and keep updated daily Diaplous fleet information in Indian Ocean Region (IOR) and West Africa (WAF), in coordination with the relevant departments.
- Upload required maritime and security-related information to the Software Platform database as instructed by the MOC Supervisor.
- Evaluate self-awareness of relevant regulatory frameworks, legislation changes, initiatives, and maritime industry developments.
- Report any abnormality identified during drafting or uploading information to the software platform database to the MOC Supervisor.
- Respond to client inquiries and address client requests to the Maritime Operations Center team as appropriate.
- Support the MOC Supervisor and Fleet Operator in efforts for continuous adaptation of Ops Centre functions to evolving business needs.
- Notify the MOC Supervisor and IT Manager in case of software malfunction.
- Communicate customer issues with operations teams and collaborate with the MOC Supervisor to identify ways of improving customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in planned training of the Ops Department.
- Stay updated on maritime regulatory framework developments.
- Contact Diaplous representatives, Senior Team Leaders, and port agents in various regions for obtaining maritime-related information on a case-by-case basis.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Maritime Studies.
- English language proficiency at C2 level.
- Minimum one year of experience in the maritime/shipping industry either at sea or in a related shore-side position as Assistant Marine Operator.
- Good knowledge of maritime regulations and marine industry standards as well as HSEQ practices.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent English language communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office.
