Job Description:

Senior Hydrologist

This role involves leading the development of hydrological studies and measuring officer functions to support energy production.

As a senior hydrologist, you will work on various projects, including flood discharge calculations, technical report preparation, runoff estimation from drainage basins, water balance studies, and reviewing third-party studies related to hydrology.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare and lead hydrological studies and calculate design flood discharges
  • Process and analyze hydrological data and prepare technical reports for design flood discharge calculations
  • Estimate runoff from drainage basins and conduct water balance studies
  • Review and assess third-party studies related to hydrology

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are essential for this role.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Hydraulic specialization or equivalent
  • Master of Engineering or Doctor of Engineering in Hydrology or Hydraulic Engineering will be considered additional qualifications
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in preparing hydrological studies, calculation of flood hydrographs, processing of hydrological data, and water balance studies
  • Experience in hydraulic studies of flood control projects, irrigation networks will be considered additional qualification
  • Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) or an equivalent professional body
  • Knowledge of HEC-HMS, PRMS, MODFLOW, QGIS, SAGA GIS, iRIC, etc. will be considered additional qualifications
  • Good knowledge of English language
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Availability in case of emergency and urgent geographical relocations
