Geoscience Data Management Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geoscience Data Manager to join our team.

This role involves maximizing the usage of data and leading projects for large scale clean-up, migration and restructuring. The successful candidate will ensure that changes to information systems are secure, transparent and align with the company's strategy.

Data Management Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain geophysical and geological databases to ensure data integrity.
  • Oversee the storage, retrieval, and archiving of seismic data, well logs, and other G&G datasets.
  • Implement and enforce data management policies and procedures.
Quality Control:

Conduct regular data quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of G&G data.

Work with geoscientists and engineers to resolve data discrepancies and issues.

Data Distribution:

Facilitate the distribution and accessibility of G&G data to internal stakeholders.

Develop and maintain data catalogs and metadata for easy data discovery and access.

Support data requests from geologists, geophysicists, and other technical staff.

Spatial Data Management:

Manage spatial data using Arc GIS and other GIS tools.

Create and maintain geospatial databases, maps, and related documentation.

Perform spatial analysis to support exploration and production activities.

Collaboration and Support:

Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure the proper functioning of data management systems.

Provide training and support to geoscientists and engineers on data management practices and tools.

Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and technical documents using G&G data.

Data Integration:

Integrate various types of G&G data to support multidisciplinary projects.

Work with external data vendors and partners to acquire and incorporate new datasets.
