Mid Level Back End Python Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Mid-Level Back-End Python Engineer to join our dynamic software engineering team. As a key member, you will play a pivotal role in developing impactful features and contributing to our sustainability mission.

Your primary responsibilities will include leading and mentoring junior engineers, designing and implementing systems and data models, developing and maintaining solutions utilizing event-driven architecture, integrating with third-party APIs, working with geospatial data, and ensuring the reliability and quality of our product through rigorous data testing.

To succeed in this role, you will require a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with 4–6 years of experience in software engineering, ideally in a relevant domain. Strong proficiency in Python and object-oriented design principles, as well as solid experience with relational databases and SQL, are also essential.

In addition to your technical skills, excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are crucial for effective collaboration and communication within our team.

Requirements
  • Must-Have Skills:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
    • 4–6 years of experience in software engineering, ideally in a relevant domain.
    • Strong proficiency in Python and object-oriented design principles.
    • Solid experience with relational databases (standard and cloud-based) and SQL.
    • Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems.
    • Experience with event-driven architecture and asynchronous programming concepts.
    • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Bonus Points for:
    • Experience with RESTful APIs or other web services.
    • Knowledge of infrastructure automation technologies like Docker.
    • Background in environmental sustainability or related fields.
