Job Summary The Hostess is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and coordinating seating arrangements in the restaurant. With a focus on hospitality, organization, and guest satisfaction, the Hostess plays a key role in creating a positive first impression for guests and ensuring a smooth and efficient dining experience. Key Duties and Responsibilities Welcome guests warmly as they arrive at the restaurant, engaging with them in a friendly and professional manner. Manage the guest waiting list, take reservations, and estimate wait times accurately, providing guests with updates and information as needed. Escort guests to their tables, seating them promptly and efficiently while ensuring a smooth flow of traffic in the restaurant. Answer phone calls and inquiries from guests regarding reservations, availability, and dining options. Input reservation details into the restaurant's reservation system accurately, confirming reservations and noting any special requests or preferences. Monitor the dining room layout, seating capacity, and table availability to optimize table turnover and maximize guest satisfaction. Coordinate with servers, bussers, and management to ensure that guests are seated promptly and that tables are cleared and reset efficiently. Anticipate guests' needs and preferences, offering assistance, recommendations, and personalized service to enhance their dining experience. Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements Highschool diploma or equivalent Previous experience as a hostess or in a similar guest service role, preferably in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality industry. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
