Intellectica is recruiting on behalf of its client, a privately held residential real estate development and management company operating as part of a multi-generational family office. With a sizeable portfolio spanning Greece and other European locations, the company is focused on delivering high-quality residential projects and maintaining operational excellence across its holdings. The business is headquartered in Athens, with ownership partly engaged from abroad. To support its next phase of growth and portfolio optimization, the company is seeking a highly structured and reliable Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead operations and ensure disciplined execution across all projects. The role reports directly to the CEO/Owner.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the real estate portfolio, ensuring all tasks are completed on time, within scope, and under budget
  • Implement and maintain robust project management systems to track progress, costs, and deliverables across multiple developments
  • Lead budgeting and cost control efforts, ensuring strict financial discipline and transparency
  • Coordinate with external contractors, engineers, architects, and service providers to ensure quality and timely delivery
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to streamline processes and improve performance
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, permits, and safety standards across all properties
  • Prepare regular reports and updates for ownership, providing clear visibility into project status and financial performance
  • Support strategic planning and decision-making around asset optimization, acquisitions, and disposals
  • Any other task that may be required from time to time

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • Educational background in engineering (civil, mechanical, or architectural) combined with an MBA or equivalent business qualification
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in real estate operations, development, or asset management, ideally within residential portfolios
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines
  • Strong understanding of Greek real estate regulations, construction standards, and budgeting practices
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Fluency in Greek and English is required
