Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Fashion Designer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate storytelling into stunning hand-painted prints. This role requires an innovative thinker who can develop unique and marketable designs that align with our brand's vision. The ideal candidate will be adept in prêt-à-porter production and able to bring stories to life through fabric, as well as possess the skill to collaborate across teams, to ensure our collections are both artistically exceptional and commercially viable.

Key Responsibilities

Art Direction
: Lead the artistic vision for our collections, ensuring alignment with the brand's identity and storytelling goals.

Hand-Painted Prints
: Collaborate with the creative team to develop and incorporate hand-painted prints into our designs, creating unique, visually stunning pieces.

Moodboards
: Create compelling moodboards that capture the essence of each collection, guiding the design and production process. Able to communicate the visual and emotional tone of the collections to internal teams and external partners.

Trend Analysis
: Stay ahead of industry trends, identifying emerging styles and incorporating them into our collections. Attend fashion shows, trade fairs, and conduct market analysis to ensure our designs remain cutting-edge and relevant.

Prêt-à-Porter Production
: Oversee the production of ready-to-wear collections, ensuring high quality and adherence to timelines. Manage the transition from prototype to final product, addressing any production challenges that arise.

Collaboration
: Work closely with the creative and production teams to bring designs from concept to completion, as well as with the marketing team to align design concepts with brand strategy and customer needs. Ensure seamless communication and cooperation across departments.

Founder-Centric Brand
: Design with the founder's vision and values in mind, creating pieces that resonate personally and reflect the core ethos of our brand. Conduct market research and gather customer feedback to continually refine and improve our offerings.

Storytelling
: Utilize prints and fabric to tell captivating stories, enhancing the emotional connection with our audience.

Mentorship
: Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of designers, fostering their professional growth and development. Provide guidance and feedback to help them achieve their full potential.

Produce sketches

Stay current

Qualifications

• Ideally, 10 years of experience as a Fashion Designer, preferably in prêt-à-porter fashion.

• Excellent drawing, sketching, and illustration skills.

• B.A. in Fashion Designing will be considered as an asset.

• Deep understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and materials.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

• Passion for sustainable and ethical fashion practices.

• Strong leadership abilities and experience in art direction.

• Proficiency in creating moodboards and presenting design concepts.

• In-depth knowledge of prêt-à-porter production processes.

• Strong understanding of market trends and customer preferences.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
